Resumen: El punto de partida de este articulo es una foto de Julio Lopez, ex detenido-desaparecido de la pasada dictadura argentina y vuelto a desaparecer en 2006 tras dar testimonio en el juicio que condeno al represor Miguel Etchecolatz a prision perpetua. Una foto de Lopez ya vista sera ahora reinsertada en otro contexto, duplicada para ser dada nuevamente a la mirada. Desde ella se desplegaran las singularidades de algunas otros artefactos visuales entendidos como memorias fotograficas de la historia reciente argentina ligada a la pasada dictadura. Measuring Orthorexia Nervosa: Psychometric Limitations of the ORTO-15.

AbstractOrthorexia nervosa has recently been defined as excessive preoccupation with healthy eating, causing significant nutritional deficiencies and social and personal impairments. The ORTO-15 is the most widely used instrument to evaluate orthorexia nervosa, although previous studies obtained inconsistent results about its psychometric properties, and there are no data on the Spanish version. Thus, the main objective of the present study was to analyze the psychometric properties of the Spanish adaptation of the ORTO-15. This article takes us to Nazaret, an outlying district on Valencia’s waterfront which we consider from three complementary perspectives: the synchronic vision of its current socio-spatial structure, the diachronic and processual contextualization of the changes it has undergone in the last century, and the perceptions and images which characterize the neighbourhood, together with the features, activity and incidence of its associative fabric. First Nations Healing: From Traditional Medicine to Experimental Ethnopharmacology

Abstract Focusing on First Nations traditional medicine, we investigated whether traditional knowledge of medicinal plants can be validated by modern scientific methods of molecular and cellular pharmacology and whether this information is of value for improving current therapy options. Based on two projects on medicinal plants of the Gwich’in – a First Nations group on the Canadian North West Coast – we found that extracts from several plants traditionally used medically were able to kill tumor cells, including otherwise multidrug-resistant cells. Early intentional communication as a predictor of language development in young toddlers

Interrelations between various types of early intentional communi cation measures, and their relations to children's concurrent and subsequent language skills and maternal interactional sensitivity were studied in a sample of 111 mother-infant pairs. Intentional communication was assessed at 14 months of age using a composite of early actions and gestures derived from parental reports (MacArthur Communicative Development Inventories, MCDI), and measures of early joint attentional behaviours obtained via observations of parent-child play interaction.
